Hey, you people suck! Haven't you all ever heard of leaving COMMENTS?!? It's really easy, down at the bottom of the post their is a little spot that says "COMMENTS". Click on it, put in your name and write me a message. I'm not hauling my ass to the internet cafe/library/public computer lab anymore until I get some decents remarks for you people! I even put up a picture of Brian in a SOMBRERO for pete's sake. And all we get is one measly comment (thanks Erin). I put up a picture of me getting stalked by a white deer that practically attacked my for some food pellets and what do I get? 1 Comment (thanks Carrie). Maybe if I get some attention I'll tell you all about our trip to the beach, the proper way to pronounce the name of the Whakapapa Ski Resort and what the first US restaurant we visited in NZ was. Otherwise you'll just have to wonder. :-)

Calm down, Kyyayytyye, there is no need to do anything drastic! Forgive my lack of comments, there are 3 inches of snow outside and I was scared to touch any electronic appliances. Good thing you don't have to worry about that in NZ, being in the 3rd world and all. Just how difficult is it to cook all your meals over a fire? Are you guys able to watch the Olympics at a decent hour over there? Thanks for the continued postings; I am quite jealous and would love to find a reason to travel to NZ for a couple of months. Take care.

Hi Kate,

We're really, really sorry we've been so silent while really, really enjoying your posts! I know I speak for both of us when I say that Kristin and I are very envious of the things you and Brian are doing and seeing. Your pictures are incredible, as are your narratives on your experiences. We get so caught up in reading we almost forget the ‘conversational’ aspect of blogging!

Of course with winter’s return (26 degrees here at 8pm) we really hate to hear about other people’s trips to the beach too!

We promise to do better! Keep the updates coming!

Love,

Mark & Kristin

Hi guys! We've been faithful about reading your postings, sorry we haven't responded to many! It sounds like your trip is awesome...it's inspiring me to plan a trip there some day. Nothing big to report in Columbus. I don't know if you've received your most recent gas bill, but don't expect it to be much lower. Remember those parties you said we could have with the officers from work?? Well, let's just say it's been a 24/7 hot spot! We left $10 on the dining room table to help with the cost. And sorry about the front windows. Just send us the bill. No, seriously. Today is Pepe's 13th birthday. Nothing like a candle in a can of tuna for the old fart! Oliver will be 1 on Tuesday. He's mastered a trick! He now jumps into our arms, with a little prodding and promise of a treat, of course. That's all for now. We'll write more later. We think of y'all all the time! Have fun! Well, I wasn't sure that Brian would appreciate my comments: I was wondering where the other three sombreros were, after seeing Brian's eyes in your photo.

As others have said, your photos are wonderful. I am curious about which were taken with or without the skylight filter--the shots of the water and sky are exceptional.

My parents sent us a NZ tape which we then shared with your parents, Kate. Most of the time is spent on the North Island but there are some really interesting shots of a glacier and other mountainous areas on the South Island.

Take good care.

Love the sombrero! Do they have Mexican restaurants there?

We beg your humble forgiveness and promise not to just lurk!! By the way Kate, we never talked about the two corrections officers working at the hospital and the one guy shot the other guy in the parking lot a couple weeks ago!! Any scoop?? Did you know either of them? Gotta run....Grey's Anatomy is on now!!

Love, (aunt) Kristin

*Sob!* I have a feed reader that basically self updates any time one of my favorite reads has a new post. Usually, I am the first one to read and comment on your posts.

I don't want to be the first one every time! You probably think I just sit at my computer all day long reading blogs, or something. I feel slightly staulkerish! :)

I promise to comment on every one, even if I just say pppbbbssst! :p

Hi Kate & Brian:
Sorry about not commenting very often. I really have enjoyed reading your journal & the pictures are awesome. I tell all my friends to check it out. My mom still can't get to the site. I don't know if her machine has enough memory to handle it. She said that she couldn't go to the library to try to view it because she isn't experienced enough. She should get the print out from Allan in a couple of days.
On another subject... What did Brian end up doing about the residency priorities? Or would you rather not say?
Kate, I had a nice visit with your parents on Saturday. We all speculated on where you might be next year. We are sure going to miss you not being right here in town. This blog has been a great way to reduce the time and space between us.
Tito let me hold him for a little while. You guys can get him a kitty treadmill when you get home. (Just kidding!)
Take care, and love to you both.

Hey Kate and Brian,

I've been reading regularly, but have been in an antisocial blog funk for a while, and so I haven't left any comments. I do really love reading about your New Zealand adventures.

Love,

Tiffany

(p.s. Blogger won't take my code. I like line breaks. Stupid blogger.)
